Stirrup Cup Castle

While I was out, one of our readers asked: “My question is in regards to the Stirrup Cup Castle. Some Oakdale websites say its location was between the gas station on the corner of Oakdale-Bohemia Road and the West Sayville Firehouse and some say it’s where the Firehouse is now. Can anyone answer this question exactly?”  So does any one know the answer?

The entire history of it, in-depth can be found on the Oakdale website.

This was my Dad’s restaurant, his name was Paul J. Lissandrello, and it burned down in 1954, after a stupid Chef left the stove on. It was located in the same spot that Robert Hall men’s store was, on the North Side of Monutauk Highway.
